Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to send a deposit?

Yes. A 50% deposit will be required to reserve any date in our book. This is NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. 

How many people do we need for a private hunt?

Likely, with less than 8 people you will be paired with another group. If you have 8+ you will have the option of hunting privately. It is always recommended if you want a private group to book 8+ hunters.

Are we responsible for getting our hunting licenses before arriving?

Yes, you will be responsible for purchasing all necessary licenses before being allowed to hunt. In the state of Oklahoma, Residents & Nonresidents are required to have a Federal Duck Stamp, a State Duck Stamp, an Oklahoma hunting license, and a HIP permit.

*If hunting Sandhill Cranes, You are required to purchase a Federal Sandhill Crane Permit. We encourage all hunters purchase the permit in case we find a good feed during your trip.*

Where will we hunt?

It is hard to give each group an exact location of where we will hunt each day. We will scout in the morning/evening to put you on the best hunt possible in our area.

What will we be hunting out of?

Depending on the location and type of hunt, we will determine the best type of hide for that hunt. We have the option to hunt out of layouts, A-Frame style blinds, and to lay in the decoys under socks.

*If any members of your party require special accommodations, please communicate that with us prior to arrival.*  

What do I need to bring?

-SHOTGUN
-SHELLS  ( 3in #2 Steel Shot will cover all species)
-WEATHER APPROPRIATE CLOTHING
-MUD BOOTS

*We strongly recommend each client to bring a pair of waders due to the uncertain weather we experience in Oklahoma. Although it is not mandatory, we strongly recommend some type of face covering to help you stay hid.*

 

 

 


 

Tipping/Gratuity

 

Tips are not included in our hunt cost. Our guides go above and beyond every day to make sure that you are provided the best possible experience. Average tips range from $50-$75 per hunter per guide per day.

FAQ's Whitetail Hunts

 

What to bring:

-Rubber boots

-Shooting sticks

-Large ice chest

-Hunter orange [hat and vest]

-Binoculars 

-Hunting license 

-Own chair if ours aren't comfortable enough 

 

Do we have a spot to check rifle & bows?

Yes, we have an area to check rifle zeros, and also a place to check bows. 

 

What type of deer can I shoot?

We expect that all of our hunters target mature bucks and does. We work hard to manage our properties for them produce trophy deer year after year.

Will I be the only hunter at the lodge?

Other hunters will be staying at the lodge during your stay. We believe that this creates future relationships and camaraderie in the camp.

 

Do we have to clean our own harvest?

It is your responsibility to clean your harvest. If we are available, we offer cleaning and quartering deer for an additional fee. 

 

What types of blinds and terrain will we be hunting?

Majority of hunting will be from ground blinds with a source of food near. (Feeder/Agriculture)

 

What is the typical weather?

Weather in Oklahoma is always subject to change day to day. You will need to keep an eye on the weather a few days prior to your arrival. We encourage that all hunters bring clothes for cold weather, warm weather, and precipitation.
